How to Create a Cozy Reading Nook in Any Corner

You don't need a whole room or a built-in window seat. A reading nook is really just one good chair, one good lamp, and the decision to keep that corner for nothing else.

The details that keep you there

A throw blanket isn't decoration — it's the reason you stay for another chapter when the evening cools down. Hang it over the arm so it takes one movement to pull it across your lap. A knitted throw in a neutral tone works year-round without looking summery in October or heavy in April.

Add a small plant nearby — something trailing or architectural, low-maintenance. It gives the corner a sense of enclosure without making it dark.

Finally, protect the nook. Don't let it become a charging station, a laundry sorting spot, or a dumping ground. A reading nook only works if its only job is reading.
